[[1985年]][[9月19日]]的[[1985年墨西哥城大地震|墨西哥城大地震]]中，多明哥家族的多位親人不幸罹難。多明哥當時也親身投入救災工作，並在次年舉辦了慈善演唱會和發行紀念專輯。
