廖文毅父親[[西螺七嵌|廖琛]]（後改名廖承丕）於1895年[[乙未戰爭]]之時，曾英勇抵抗[[日軍]]<REF name="Auto8I-1"/>，是[[義軍]]重要將領。以[[西螺七嵌]]功夫聞名於世。
