迪尼兹18岁时开始驾驶卡丁车且偶有佳绩，随后，转战巴西福特方程式锦标赛及英国三级方程式锦标赛。他在1995年赛季（：1995 Formula One season）加入弗蒂车队（：Forti），首度登上一级方程式赛车赛场。隔年转投尼基尔车队（：Equipe Ligier）后，又在1997年（：1997 Formula One season）转队至飞箭。他在1998年赛季（：1998 Formula One season）取得车手积分榜第14名的成绩后，于1999年加入萨伯车队。他在2000年离开萨伯，并买下保鲁斯（：Prost Grand Prix）车队的股权，不过隔年便宣布倒台。

早年生涯

弗蒂（1995年）

飞箭（1997-98年）

1997年（：1997 Formula One season），迪尼兹相信新的赛季将会更好些，决定加入飞箭车队，表示：“汤姆（沃金萧）为1997年做好万全的准备，使我果断地下定决心。”[16]迪尼兹在赛季开幕站澳洲（：1997 Australian Grand Prix）顺利完赛，但在接下来连续5场分站皆以退赛收场。他在加拿大（：1997 Canadian Grand Prix）取得第8名，接著又再连续4场退赛。在义大利（：1997 Italian Grand Prix）的退赛之前，他于比利时（：1997 Belgian Grand Prix）拿下第7名的成绩。接著，他完成接下来的3场分站，其中包括卢森堡大奖赛（：1997 Luxembourg Grand Prix）的积分圈内完赛。赛季收官站欧洲大奖赛（：1997 European Grand Prix）则是以退赛收场。10月，飞箭车队宣布迪尼兹签下一年的延长合约，在1998年（：1998 Formula One season）续留该队。[16]最终，迪尼兹以2分在车手积分榜上名列第16，落后队友希尔4个名次。[17]
