利雅得航空（阿拉伯語:طيران الرياض ，Riyadh Air，IATA代碼：RX，ICAO代碼：RXI)[1]是沙特阿拉伯的第二間國家航空公司，總部設在該國首都利雅德[2]。該航司計劃以哈立德國王國際機場為運營基地。該航司計劃成為中東營收第一的航司。該航司計劃營運涵蓋中東、非洲、亞洲、歐洲、南美洲和北美洲的一百個國內外航點。當前該公司已確定其機隊將由A320、B737[3]及B787組成[4]。
據沙特通訊社報道，利雅得航空將為公共投資基金的子公司，亞西爾·魯馬揚將擔任董事長。同時湯尼·道格拉斯被指定為該航司的首席執行官。此前他於2018年1月至2022年10月擔任阿聯酋阿提哈德航空之首席執行官[5]。在設想中，利雅得航空將成為「世界級航空公司」，預計可帶來200億美元非石油收入，並將創造逾20萬個直接及間接就業。
歷史
- 2023年3月12日，王儲穆罕默德·本·薩勒曼對外宣布成立利雅得航空[6][7]。翌日，航司宣布已訂購三十九架波音787-9，另有33架選購權[8]。
- 於2023年6月4日首次公布飛機塗裝，塗於其首架波音787-9飛機上[9]。同日，該航司在伊斯坦布爾舉行的世界航空運輸峰會上獲指定「RX」IATA代碼。
- 2023年6月12日，波音向該航司交付首架飛機[10]。
- 2023年6月14日，民航總局為該航司頒發商業運營許可，這是航空公司開始商業運營的必要條件[11]。
